Young People Count (YPC) is a vibrant, independent charity dedicated to empowering young people in our community. We provide a safe and welcoming space where young people aged 11-18 can connect, learn, and grow. Through a wide range of activities, support services, and programs, we aim to help youth build confidence, develop life skills, and reach their full potential.
Role Overview:
As a Youth Worker at YPC, you will play a key role in supporting and inspiring the young people who use our services. You will engage with them through a variety of activities, from creative workshops and sports to mentoring sessions and one-on-one support. You'll be part of a passionate team committed to making a positive impact in our community.
Key Responsibilities:
    Plan, deliver, and evaluate engaging activities and programs that meet the needs and interests of young people.
    Build positive relationships with young people, offering guidance, support, and encouragement.
    Work collaboratively with other staff, volunteers, and external partners to ensure a safe and supportive environment.
    Address any issues or challenges that young people may face, providing advice and referrals where necessary.
    Promote and uphold YPC’s values of inclusivity, respect, and community engagement.
    In addition to engaging with young people, this role includes maintaining a safe and welcoming environment by conducting regular health and safety checks, as well as taking responsibility for a weekly clean of the premises to ensure our space is always ready for use.
What We’re Looking For:
    Experience working with young people, either professionally or in a voluntary capacity.
    Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to relate to young people from diverse backgrounds.
    Creativity and enthusiasm in planning and delivering activities.
    A caring and empathetic approach, with a genuine passion for supporting youth development.
    Ability to work evenings (4pm - 8pm, Tuesday to Friday, with remaining hours being flexible)
