Easter Holiday Activities at Young People Count

We’re excited to be running a range of Holiday Activities and Food (HAF) sessions this Easter for children and young people in Pocklington.

These sessions give young people the chance to try new activities, spend time with friends and enjoy healthy food during the school holidays. Thanks to funding from East Riding of Yorkshire Council through the HAF programme, places are free for children eligible for Free School Meals.

We have also added a small number of paid places for children and young people who are not eligible for HAF, with families asked to make a small contribution towards the cost of the session. We hope this will allow more young people to take part and enjoy the activities on offer.

This Easter, we will be offering a variety of activities, including:

🌿 Forest Skills & Cooking Day – preparing food together before heading into the woods with Rewilding Youth to explore bushcraft, nature skills and outdoor activities.

⚡ STEM Engineering Workshop – building and testing LEGO wind turbines with Lab Rascals and discovering how renewable energy works in a fun, hands-on way.

🏊 Bridlington Activity Day Trip – a day out at Bridlington Leisure Centre, including swimming and the opportunity to try Clip ’n Climb.

💪 Move, Refuel & Recharge – a fitness session with professional coaches at YO4 Training Club, followed by cooking and a practical wellbeing workshop.

All sessions include food and drinks, and are delivered in a safe, welcoming environment with experienced staff.

Summer Holiday Activities

We are also exploring the possibility of running activities during the summer holidays and would love to hear from families about what they would like to see.

Please take a moment to complete our short survey, which will help us plan activities that work best for local young people and families.

What colour for YPC?

We are hoping to get a fresh lick of paint on the outside of YPC... A colour that stands out so people notice us and know where we are. Which do you think would suit us the best?
