We’re excited to be running a range of Holiday Activities and Food (HAF) sessions this Summer for children and young people in and Pocklington.

These sessions give young people the chance to try new activities, spend time with friends and enjoy healthy food during the school holidays. Thanks to funding from East Riding of Yorkshire Council through the HAF programme, places are free for children eligible for Free School Meals.

We have also added a small number of paid places for children and young people who are not eligible for HAF, with families asked to make a small contribution towards the cost of the session (roughly £2-5). We hope this will allow more young people to take part and enjoy the activities on offer.

This Summer, we will be offering a variety of activities, including:

🥊 Youth Boxing (23rd July, 6th August, 7th August, 20th August, 27th August & 3rd September) – an introduction to the basics of boxing in a safe, structured and encouraging environment, led by a professional coach.

STEM Workshop (24th July & 21st August) – become scientists for a day in hands-on experiments and challenges that aim to interest and excite!

💦 Water Activities (30th July) – a joyful water-based activity day, enjoying a range of games and activities using water guns and balloons.

🎨 Graffiti Canvas Art (31st July) – a vibrant session to explore the techniques that make up the graffiti art style, where young people will get to design and paint their own work of art!

🎭 Outdoor Theatre (12th August & 19th August) – 2 exciting sessons lead by Thunk-it Theatre, exploring outdoor theatre through creative writing and 'play in a day' style sessions.

🔫 Nerf Wars (13th August) – an energetic session where young people can work together in a range of activities using nerf guns, such as mission based scenarios, team battles and capture-the-flag.

🔨 Sculpture Making (14th August) – a creative session for young people to explore art and sculpting in an encouraging environment, using a variety of materials such as recycled items, clay, wire and more.

🎶 Music Making (28th August) – a creative session exploring different ways to create sound using a range of instruments and tools. Young people will have the opportunity to work together to develop their own musical performance piece.

♻️ Trashion Show (4th September) – an imaginative session to create our own fashion pieces using recycled materials - turning trash into fashion!

All sessions include food and drinks, and are delivered in a safe, welcoming environment with experienced staff.
